The MS Reporting Services Developer role is a part of a dynamic growing centre of competence CoC for the provision of innovative, world-class Test Systems solutions for a large multi-national satellite company.
The Test & Software Group is assigned the responsibility to provide the Test System expertise to meet the company programmes. The group has the responsibility for the provision of Test Systems to validate Equipments and Payloads products, which focus on research, development and deployment in the fields of Digital Processors, RF and Microwave space qualified technologies.
Within all Test Solutions a significant amount of Test Data is generated comprising Results, Analysis, Productivity and Traceability/Support type information. This Data is handled by the company developed Advanced Test Data Management System which is Real Time Operational Data Base.
This MS Reporting Services Developer position is to work within a small dynamic team Developing, Applying and Supporting this Advanced Test Data Management System.
The position is primarily Portsmouth based but on some occasions work will be required at other company facilities
This position reports to Test Data Management System Team Lead.
Job Description:
Liaise with product designers to produce Measurement Requirement Specifications. Write the SQL queries required to retrieve the data from data warehouses and present the results in MS rdl reports.
Qualifications:
Minimum Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Science subject
Skills required:
MS SQL Server 2005 (Transact-SQL querying) MS Reporting Services.
rdl report authoring
Data analysis abilities
Knowledge of Manufacturing Production Testing customer facing skills to capture data / reporting requirements

Responsibilities:
This MS Reporting Services Developer role includes but is not limited to the areas of responsibilities below:
Produce Measurement Requirement Specifications
Write the SQL queries required to retrieve data from data warehouses
Develop/present the Test Results/Test Data in MS rdl reports.
Report to the T&SG Management Team as required.
Advises on Data Management System design improvements
Support Bid Proposals and Requirements role out as required.
Assist in the transfers of Test Data Management Systems from development into manufacturing and support/train users as required
Working to agreed departmental procedures
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
