Development / Research Engineer

Global Engine Development (GED) is part of the companys Technology and Solutions Division which provides support to Product Engineering for a wide range of services from new engine development to updates on current products. To support this operation an engineer is required to work as part of the Emissions Facilities Engineering Team responsible for the efficient operation and accuracy of all emissions measurement equipment.
The Role:
Key responsibilities will include:
Fault diagnosis on emissions measurement systems and ancillary equipment
Calibration, traceable to national standards, of emissions measuring systems
Follow and complete procedures to both internal and external (e.g. ISO and EPA) emissions standards on emissions facilities and equipment throughout GED
Build equipment, systems and rigs to support the emissions sampling and measurement process
Assist in the specification, design and installation of new equipment
Requirements:
HNC qualified in Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent is an advantage
Base mechanical knowledge is desirable, as is experience with calibration and maintenance of Horiba Gaseous emissions systems and operation of heavy-duty diesel engine test cells
Engineering or automotive background is a distinct advantage
Fitting skills
Display flexibility and ability to carry out a variety of complex tasks
Must be a team player and have strong customer focus
Must have a strong determination and self motivation to work on own initiative to high standards of accuracy and quality and to resist pressures to accept second best
Be computer literate
