Description
Our client require a Development Technologist to work in a refractory environment.
Development Technologist - Buxton
Our Client, based in the heart of the peak district, require a Development Technologist to work within a refactory environment.
The ideal candidate will have industry experience along with some formal training in materials engineering or similar discipline.
Main duties and responsibilities are;
-Member of the Technical Team responsible to the Technical Manager.
-Develop new products and improve existing ones. Undertake testing
programmes and supervise evaluation work at industry test houses.
-Specific project work involving new / existing refractory products,
evaluation of new raw materials and potential substitutes for existing ones.
-Trouble shoot production problems in liaison with the QC team, become
involved in improvement teams as required.
-Contribute towards the development and administration of the quality
management system.
-Carry out routine audit of production processes to ascertain compliance
with procedures and/or customer requirements and assist with the development
and implementation of new procedures as required.
-Build good working relationships with works team members, communicate
the importance of continuous improvements, encouraging participation in the
improvement process and development of new products.
-Provide technical support to the sales team and deal with customer
technical enquiries which may involve site visits to customers and
suppliers. Provide or manufacture trial samples for customer appraisal.
-Review production and quality data to compile and issue reports relevant
to the technical team business objectives.
-Investigate complaints relating to technical issues.
-Create data, health/safety data sheets and product definitions for new
products.
Salary is negotiable dependant on skills and experience.
