Our client is the world's number two engine maker. Their succession in aerospace is based on their wide product portfolio and the strength of it's gas turbine technology.

They are looking to recruit on a 12 month contract basis a Civil Aerospace Development Engineer/Technologist to be based in Derby on a 38-hour week contract with overtime required when necessary. Gas Turbine Knowledge and Certification Compliance knowledge is an advantage.


Within Civil Aerospace MECHANICAL Development Engineering are currently involved in a number of programs, which include the Large Fleet Engines, Trent 900, Trent 1000 and Trent XWB projects, all of which have active development programmes at different stages. These projects are key to the success of the Civil Aerospace business.

You will be required to conduct validation and verification of design packages (either new certification or modifications to existing product range) to ensure their compliance with specification, adherence to safety and effectiveness for production release and subsequent entry into service. You will need to ensure that the acquisition of data, to demonstrate compliance, is managed in an efficient and cost effective manner. You will also need to arrange and support the build, test and strip cycle(s) for development vehicles in accordance with the Aerospace Engine Development Plan (EDP).

Within the Development Function, there are number of Gas Turbine Development Engineering Technologist vacancies. The Trent 1000 project requires a person who has a high level of technical ability, and will be expected to support development engine build, test and strip activates as well as report on the validation and verification of design packages. This role offers a broad range of challenges for candidates seeking to develop their career within the engineering function.

We would expect you to be educated to degree level, either in an engineering or scientific discipline. You should have sound engine knowledge and demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment, be well motivated and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
