Development Engineer - Fuel Systems

They are committed to an expansion programme throughout 2007 and beyond that includes the acquisition of a wide range of engineering specialists within: Mechanical Engineering, CAE, Performance & Emissions, Electronics, Global Engine Development and Aftertreatment.
The Role:
Component test:
Proven ability working with component rigs, from construction of rig to product evaluation with ability to design test sequence for given criteria
Instrumentation setup and operate- including high speed data acquisition
Ability to analyse component failure and recommend further actions i.e. Design changes, further test work etc.
Experience of common rail fuel systems
Understanding of component interaction within whole engine system
Material analysis
FMEA experience
Materials and production processes
Engine test:
Diesel Engine testing devise individual component or engine tests schedules, execute and analysis of results
Engine component rating
NVH experience
Fit n function testing experience
Working closely with Design Engineers and using BOMs to order parts for testing
Requirements:
Able to work independently can scope out own work with minimal input
Self planning- project planning
Presentation of data and key findings at public forums
Able to present and recommend key design feature changes to designers
Good understanding and interpretation of Engineering Component Drawings
Confident / experience of working in field with customers/suppliers
Excel/PowerPoint etc.
