Development Engineer

An exciting opportunity exists for a Mechanical Development Engineer to work within the Current Products Team. The current product team is a newly formed multi-functional team within Mechanical, undertaking responsibility for all engineering issues associated with the current product.
The Role:
Significant emphasis in driving improvements in product quality, this position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating engine development work, including pre-test planning, reviewing test data to ensure quality, and post-test data analysis
Will involve researching identified issues, understanding root cause of the problem and developing concepts to address with validation of the changes, to ensure an optimised design is developed
Role will require collaboration with multiple functions of the business including not least other multi-functional teams, GED, manufacturing, applications, SPQ and CPI teams
Requirements:
Engineering Degree or relevant experience and demonstrated competency
Strong technical background combined with a keen desire to improve understanding & knowledge of engine systems in general
Good understanding of engine and component test
Good understanding of component design, mechanics and manufacturing processes
Experience of project management
FMEA, APQP and 8D problem solving would be a benefit although training will be provided if required
Excellent team player, enthusiastic and have strong values
Ability to work under pressure with different functional areas, internal and external customers and suppliers is a pre-requisite
