Development Analysis Engineer
Our Client is a leading development partner of the automobile and engine industry with a proven and unique system competence in the area of combustion engines and engine peripherals. They are among the top 3 system suppliers for Piston Systems, Cylinder Components, Valve Train Systems, Air Management Systems and Liquid Management Systems.
Our client seeks an enthusiastic and dynamic Development Analysis Engineer to perform analysis work on engine and vehicle projects.
The Role:
To provide analytical support to engine design and development projects, both in-house and external
To construct models using the one dimensional wave action code GT Power, and other simulation packages
To use simulation to investigate and assess alternative concepts and determine the optimum configuration for the application
To validate models using empirical data
To interpret and present simulation results to project teams
To advise and make recommendations to project teams
To develop the capabilities of the department, in conjunction with line managers
Responsible for the quality of the simulation results, analysis and reports
Responsible for adhering to or seeking deviation for the development procedures
Responsible for presenting back test results to internal and external customers in an appropriate and timely manner
Requirements:
A Degree in Engineering, or HND with relevant experience
Good experience of the use of Cycle Simulation, preferably gained within an Automotive OEM or a consultancy
Able to work from first principles
The proven ability of dealing effectively with customers
Must be meticulous
Ability to work on own and as part of a team
Confidence to communicate effectively at all levels
Must be self motivated and the possess the drive to complete tasks in a timely manner and with appropriate attention to detail
Ability to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints
Flexibility and willingness to travel to customer sites for both long and short durations (including secondments)
