To provide technical support services to supported systems, including installation and configuration, fault resolution, security management, performance and account management, maintaining configuration records in accordance with in place standards and system procedures including contingency/disaster recovery.
Actively contributes to the development of the team s services, the planning, specification, development, installation, implementation and daily operations of IT Services. Responsible for ensuring operational day to day procedures are observed, provides.
Is able to function effectively, productively and meet time and quality targets across tasks within scope using available tools, methodologies and/or equipment with reference to others where necessary.
Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
Has a good appreciation of the wider field of IT outside his/her own specialisation and has developed a good broad understanding of computer system architecture and technologies.
Understands how the specific role relates to the delivery of IT Services to the business as a whole.
Demonstrates both formal and informal communications ability, orally and in writing when dealing with all colleagues and clients.
Is able to absorb, rapidly, new technical information as required.
Asist with the development and monitoring of standards, policy and procedures for the IT environment.
To assist in the management and development of IT Services, particularly the Welfare provision.
To take part in projects as and when required
Act as the initial point of contact for Desktop support calls
Ensure daily operational procedures are carried out as required
To assist in the deployment of IT equipment to users based at various sites.
Maintaining awareness of technological advances and market place developments in order to propose improved service, infrastructure or systems opportunities.
To work with other staff to establish and maintain inventories of all supported hardware and software, to include, location, configuration and quantities of each item.
To develop a sound working relationship with the business
Represent the IT Function at all levels within the business, vendors and partners
Ensure all solutions, procedures, implementations comply with standards and security requirements.
Essential: Active Directory. TCP/IP, DNS DHCP WINS. Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems. Networking principals. Excellent communication skills, Good problem solving skills, Able to work under pressure
Desirable: Microsoft Server Technologies, Network Architecture design, Large scale deployments, SAP, ITIL
