This is an excellent career opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our team. In this challenging role, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate hydraulic and mechanical design support to the companies products and projects.
You will be required to manage a varied workload, prioritising according to importance and timescales with minimum supervision. You will have good organisational and communication skills along with the ability to liaise at all levels.
Your key responsibilities will be:
> To produce timely and accurate hydraulic designs associated with the company's products/projects;
> To produce timely and accurate mechanical designs associated with the company's products/projects;
> Ensure the company standard procedures are followed in producing design calculations and drawings;
> To support specific projects with customer/site visits as necessary.
> To ensure the accuracy (including checking) of drawings produced by direct reports;
> To support sales efforts with preliminary design work and customer visits as necessary;
> Responsibility for Health & Safety related to designs produced and generally within the office.
To be successful in this position you must be able to work as part of a team and work to tight deadlines without compromising health, safety or quality.
We would expect the successful candidate to be a Chartered Engineer or Graduate engineer who is working towards Chartered Status (civil or mechanical) with a preferred minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role. We would also expect knowledge of hydraulics related to the water industry and mechanical/structural design experience
Innovative thinking is required to overcome problems and influence cost effectiveness of products.
