Design Manager for a new build Commercial project - Management of design aspects at construction stage of a single large project, you will be expected to manage the design elements as part of the construction team offering guidance and advice upon buildability issues and management of the design process.

Position: Design Manager West London

Package: Basic £55-65k plus full benefits package.

Company: Well known Construction business with projects to £50m comprising of design & build, private finance initiative and traditional contracts throughout the London region across commercial, education, retail and health.

Role: Design Manager for a new build Commercial project - Management of design aspects at construction stage of a single large project, you will be expected to manage the design elements as part of the pre-construction team offering guidance and advice upon buildability issues and management of the design process and external consultants.
Specific responsibilities include leadership of the design process, review of subcontractors design responsibilities, advice upon value management and project specifications, maintain design within cost restraints, minimise risk, ensure the design process recognises current legislation, standards and Codes of Practice. Post contract you will act in a project advisory role to the Project team, whilst monitoring performance of design consultants, compliance of subcontractors and variations.

Requirements: The successful applicant will have worked for recognised construction companies in the UK in a project based design focused role upon schemes to £20m, will be well versed in construction design and will most likely have professional qualifications.
