Global Consultancy require a Good Design Manager for Construction projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Job Title :Design Manager
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (BEng) in Engineering plus a minimum of 7 years relevant work experience. Including coordinator role.
Job Purpose:
To undertake and support administrative activity affording the engineering team maximum time and focus on the design to meet the Client requirements within the agreed scope of services.
Maintaining a focus on a positive Client environment
Minimising the opportunity for project process failure
Maintain a focus of the engineering team on achieving and maintaining required Quality Control
Person Specification:
Enthusiastic and engaging able to adapt his/her style to the needs of the situation whilst maintaining and safeguarding the interests of the Group and associated relationships
Approachable able to serve as a sounding block for any discipline related matters, whilst being able to maintain an objective viewpoint for the benefit of the project, not necessarily the designer
Experience of or aiming to work as a project manager / project leader on large multi-discipline projects.
Background of successful delivery in a core design discipline
Some experience of modern forms of project procurement and appointments for the delivery of design services.
Comfortable working in a multi-discipline environment interfacing with and delivering through the wider team (core disciplines, specialists, architects and clients)
Able to monitor and assist in the delivery of project material against milestones
Perceptive and concise being able to focus on the most important issues at any given time, but being sufficiently flexible to adjust to changes in demands
Key Responsibilities :
Assist in preparing, and monitoring project programmes to ensure sufficient time is allocated for the engineers to complete their design
Monitoring the need for specialist disciplines to be available to provide input to the Design engineers in a timely fashion
Working towards attending meetings on behalf of the design engineers when gathering and compiling information and feeding this information back into the design team
Maintaining the PDS, monitoring fee spend against planned and providing input to The discipline Job Leaders for their percentage completes compilations
Assisting in raising and monitoring invoices
Organizing and compiling input from the relevant disciplines as input to monthly progress reports being compiled by external parties
Monitor the invoices and payment of sub-consultants
Monitor and maintain design disciplines compliance with the clients QMS procedures
