Design Engineer/Senior Design Engineer
Responsibilities will include contribution to and/or leading the delivery of consultancy projects on transmission design and NVH, providing constant feedback to the software team to progress the further development of our clients world-leading transmission design and simulation tools, and working with the rest of the Engineering Department in creating a centre of excellence in transmission design and development.

There is an opportunity for individuals to undergo substantial technical training in transmission design and development within a company committed to technical excellence and technology development. No direct experience of transmissions is necessary as an extensive internal training programme is provided. However, the individual must have gained a certain level of maturity arising from some industrial experience, and be looking to extend their technical capability.

Senior Transmission Engineer
Responsibilities will include contribution to and/or leading the delivery of consultancy projects on transmission design and NVH, with a key focus on gear design, providing challenging feedback to the software team to push forward the development of gear simulation tools, driving developments in the application of gear design methods to transmission design projects and provide technical assistance/training to colleagues.

The individual must have experience of gear design by running design modelling/ analysis/ optimisation packages. Experience of any gear types can be considered and it is not necessary to have written software tools. A range of different experience levels can be accommodated, and this may well be complemented with wider experience in transmission design. However, there must be a willingness to learn and take advantages of the substantial opportunities in technical progression that this post provides.

Senior Gear Simulation Analyst
Responsibilities will include development of numerical algorithms and simulation codes for all common gear types, working with the software development team and simulation support for Engineering Design and NVH projects. This may be using 3rd party tools, extending existing in-house tools or writing new codes.

Applications include: structural analysis, frequency domain dynamic analysis and non-linear time domain dynamic analysis. Development work will be either be sponsored in-house and developed to market requirements or bespoke developments working alongside clients. Software will be developed in a mixed language environment utilising: Smalltalk, FORTRAN 95, Matlab, etc.

You must have experience of a wide variety of gearing technologies and will have written software tool that simulate such technologies in the past. You must actively seek to understand and address the current & future gear simulation technologies that our customers require.
