DESIGN ENGINEER - SOUTHEND-ON-SEA - NEGOTIABLE
Are you a competent Design Engineer, fully conversant with CAD, computer literate, & possessing a hands-on engineering background, preferably gained in light engineering? If so our clients would like to hear from you. The successful candidate will draw on a practical engineering background, to develop simple and cost-effective design solutions into working engineering drawings.
Based at our clients Southend-on-Sea factory, the position is seen as key to the future support and development, of the company's range of product. Key to the roll will be the ability to understand, and manage, the significant amounts of documentation required to support product CE marking, in addition to the requirements for product registration with external certification bodies such as TUV, UL & BSI.
Duties:
Ensure all engineering drawings, technical specifications, & design files are fully up to date.
Review current designs for potential product improvements, or reductions in manufacturing costs.
Undertake the introduction of new products into the company - These will be a combination of products fully manufactured in-house, part purchased and finished in-house, & fully purchased in for re-sale.
The role will be varied, ranging from taking an initial design brief, through the detailed design stage, into full production start up.
Skills:
HNC or Degree in Engineering
Excellent CAD skills
Engineering experience
Experience of plastic injection moulding, and or, metal fabrication would be an advantage.
Must be commercially aware
