Automotive OEM based in Lancashire is seeking an Electrical Harness Design Engineer to deliver 2D and 3D Cad drawings.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
> To work on new electrical systems and their application into the business, working closely with other business areas.
> To work with and manage suppliers to design and deliver cost effective value added electrical and wiring harness solutions.
> To produce right first time designs on multiple projects within timescales / milestones.
> To deliver CAD drawings ranging from schematics and 2D drawings to 3D drawings and models.
> To produce detailed technical specifications, development plans, and associated documentation.
> To utilise design analysis tools including system FMEA's and six sigma techniques.
> Resolution of development, manufacturing, or field service problems.
Experience and Qualifications
> Practical proven experience and working knowledge of electrical and electronic vehicle systems.
> Committed team player able to demonstrate project realisation from concept through design and into successful production.
> Experienced electrical CAD user for harness and physical electrical design, ideally ProEngineer, ProCable, ProDiagram, Saber (Harness/Bundle/Schematic).
> A knowledge of serial data communications (i.e., CAN).
> A degree or equivalent in a relevant electrical engineering discipline.
> Specific knowledge of truck (or related industry) electrical systems an advantage.
> Good communication skills both verbal and written.
> Strong planning and organisation skills.
> Self-motivated with drive and initiative.
> Six Sigma or DFSS trained with experience of successfully completing projects.
> Must be confident dealing at all levels, both internally and externally.
