Description
To work within multi-disciplinary teams on major development projects, applying your mechanical engineering and CAD abilities to realise novel medical technologies.
The position will require working within a team of highly talented, multi-disciplinary engineers to develop world-leading medical products for clients around the globe.
Initially, this position involves taking roles within development projects with exposure to all aspects of development from contract negotiation to final delivery. You will be involved in concept generation, analysis of system architectures and mechanical design and liaison across other engineering disciplines. You will be responsible for generation of concepts and layouts of systems in CAD, tolerance analysis of product designs and preparation of technical reports.
You will have contact with clients at an early stage, getting involved in defining work programmes, holding technical workshops and giving presentations. You will manage tasks within projects requiring delivery within tight timescales and budgets, managing both internal and external resources. This is likely to develop into management of projects, having full responsibility for delivery to clients.

Minimum requirements
To meet the demanding requirements of this role you will have an excellent degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
You should have a level of practical experience, ideally having spent time in an engineering design environment. Exposure to the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry would be an advantage.
Experience in 3D CAD, preferably Pro Engineer and Solid Works is required. An understanding of manufacturing techniques, assembly processes and material selection is also desirable.
Hands-on experience in leading mechanism design, stress analysis, mould flow analysis and other CAD analysis tools would be beneficial.
