Job Title: Unigraphics Design Engineer
Location: Derby Duration: 6 months +
Pay Rate: negotiable - dependant upon experience

Application of Instrumentation Design which typically involves: Receipt of a work document defining the positioning of instrumentation such as strain gauges, accelerometers, thermo-couples and associated routing of cables and pipes around the Gas Turbine Engine.

Job Description:
Application of Instrumentation Design which typically involves: Receipt of a work document defining the positioning of instrumentation such as strain gauges, accelerometers, thermo-couples and associated routing of cables and pipes around the Gas Turbine Engine.
For example; cables running from strain gauges or accelerometers, through to the telemetry box. You will need to define the lead out route, attach clips etc.
The work is carried out on engine test rigs, and an understanding of materials (metals) is desirable.
Tasks:
Understanding of customer requirements
Liaise with company specialists Create design scheme to define instrumentation solution
Presentation of solution to customer at meetings as required
Control time bookings
Capabilities:
Specific experience is less important than the ability to comply with a complex and demanding customer interface in a professional and positive manner.
Ability to quickly absorb training in various software tools and design techniques
Balanced approach to working unsupervised but knowing when to ask for help
Genuine desire to overcome hurdles and see the job to completion
Experience of Unigraphics NX2
Preferred Awareness of aero-engines and instrumentation techniques an advantage
Soft Skills: Written communication
Spoken communication
Customer Liaison
Qualifications:
Degree qualified (Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering) preferred, however candidates with good relevant experience will be considered.
