Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client who are a market leader in the Automotive industry whose product specialities include high tech dampers, suspension systems, closure system components and instrument panel structures.
They require a Design Engineer to be responsible for constructing 3-D CAD models, technical drawings, engineering calculations and report preparation. The Design Engineer will also be required to program manage all aspects of design projects and work closely with other members of the team as well as other departments, including supporting analysis, testing and production activities.
Key Responsibilities:
•lead the design and development of engineering contracts and R&D projects
•document and record design activities in project files
•create CAD models and engineering drawings
•perform engineering calculations to prove design concepts
•participate in DFMEA activities
•conduct engineering and design reviews
•initiate analysis and test requirements to support design
•prepare technical reports
•attend customer meetings
Requirements:
•high level of interest in automotive engineering
•strong personal motivation and willingness to work extended hours on challenging projects
•college or university degree in a relevant engineering discipline
•knowledge of computer aided design tools
•good organisational, communication and technical writing skills
•working knowledge of industry standard Windows applications
•must be able to work independently
•must hold a current passport and be able to travel as and when required
Desirables:
•experience with CATIA V4 & V5, CadKey or KeyCreator
•experience in an automotive and/or motorsport environment
•a desire to participate in group activities and develop good employee relations
