The position of design engineer is ideally suited to mechanical/aeronautical engineers suitable and appropriate mechanical engineering design background preferably obtained within an aerospace environment.
My client is now seeking individuals to join our growing design team in Derby.
The position of design engineer is ideally suited to mechanical/aeronautical engineers with suitable and appropriate mechanical engineering design knowledge, preferably obtained within an aerospace environment. Working across a number of design competencies, including gas turbines, aerostructures and tooling, your workload will range from producing and researching concepts through to detail design and their subsequent manufacture.
Working from our offices and our clients' sites on challenging projects you will additionally be involved in the design and analysis of component parts, contributing to prototype manufacture and validation reporting. You will need to demonstrate a range of problem solving techniques and be capable of managing yourself and others to deliver these technical requirements within project lead-times.

Mandatory Requirements of the role
Degree qualified in mechanical or aeronautical engineering or with suitable background in lieu of a degree, you will have suitable and appropriate mechanical engineering design knowledge in an environment relevant to the aerospace sector.

Pressure test equipment
Metallics / Composite design
Design for manufacture / assembly
CE Marking
Test rig design and instrumentation
Special purpose tooling
D.F.M.E.A.s
Design Validation Plans (D.V.P.s)
Tolerance analysis
Technical report writing
Project management
