The role of DESIGNER (Design Engineer) will involve the following:

Two and three dimensional design and detailing for vacuum forming products and injection moulded products
Liaison with sales team to interpret design specifications
Responsibility for control of electronic file

The role of DESIGNER (Design Engineer) will involve the following:
It is Important that you Possess the required level of understanding of VACUUM FORMING and INJECTION MOULDING of PLASTICS (raw material is polypropylene)
Two and three dimensional design and detailing for vacuum forming products and injection moulded products
Liaison with sales team to interpret design specifications
Responsibility for control of electronic files in the design department
Control design related paperwork in accordance with ISO principles
Visit both existing and potential customers along with the sales team to advise and make recommendations in relation to design requirements
Produce costing calculations for proposed designs
Complete designs using relevant current software solid works and e-drawing
Assess and approve potential and existing toolmaking companies on their abilities to meet our requirements
Liaison with tool making companies regarding tooling design, manufacture and cost
Responsibility for the production of design prototypes using the Rapid Prototype machine
Advise and liaise with Production Manager to determine best method of manufacture in relation to designed product
Liaise with the design departments within other Group companies, predominantly in Switzerland and Germany
Perform checks on samples and production volume against designs, components and fit
Provide design input in other bespoke production. Examples are fabricated products such as dividers and welding
Development of the product quality plan
Travel in Europe - Minimal but essential.

Hours of Work: 8:30am - 5:00pm (with half hour lunch)
