Description
An exciting opportunity exists within the drawing office of a worldwide company who design, develop and manufacture products for the worlds Naval and Commercial marine markets.
Accountabilities
To provide support for the implementation of all Engineering Computer software. Consisting off :
Provide support for the Implementation and administration of 3D CAD.
Provide support of all CAD Software and electronic design and engineering tools.
Provide methods, tools and information systems (using CAD, spreadsheets, Intranet web pages and databases).
Responsibilities
To use several packages, spreadsheets, databases and hand-calculations to achieve the following objectives as requested by the Senior Design Engineer Engineering Systems or Engineering Manager:
CAD
Implementation / application of 3D CAD. Including, installation, control and maintenance of the Engineering Departments CAD suite and associated utilities.
D.O. Standards
Provide support to enable update and control of all drawing office standards.
PDM
Maintenance of all engineering databases until superseded by PDM software. Preparation for and installation of PDM software to company systems
D.O. / Engineering Standards
Update and control of all draw office standards.
Creation and Maintenance and publication of Drawing Office and Engineering Standards.
Design Tools
Installation, control and maintenance of the Engineering Departments design tools such as spreadsheet shock report generators etc.
SAP
To aid in the Integration of Engineering function with SAP system such as certification requirement communication and BOMs.
Training
To provide Training on CAD or other software when applicable.
In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post
Maintain safe working practices for self and others in accordance with the Company's policy on Health and Safety.
Education:
Degree, ONC/HNC level (04) or equivalent
