To provide mechanical design and draughting input to engineering projects. Reporting directly to the Drawing Office Team Leader

RESPONSIBILITIES
•To design, engineer & produce layouts, detail drawings & design specifications for new products/product changes
•To create and maintain BOMs, part numbers and engineering structures through the CGT ERN process
•To support the draughting work associated with VPC (Value Package Change) lane 2 and 3 requests under the instruction of the DO Team Leader/VPC Project Manager
•To carry out, where deemed appropriate, engineering calculations on components to determine reliability, durability with safety as a prime consideration with the support and guidance of the Technical Engineering Group
•To lead design reviews, action & maintain records of design evolution
•To be responsible for checking own and other team members work
•To interpret & apply relevant national & international standards
•To be fully conversant with department procedures & work instructions
•To provide a link with Manufacturing to drive product improvements/changes and DFM improvements
•To liaise with outside suppliers, to ensure cost effective manufacture of design & assess prototype & pre-production parts
•To keep skills up to date especially Pro Engineer and to provide training in Pro Engineer as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
•Minimum HNC in Engineering or relevant work experience
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Change Management, Meeting Management
• Comprehensive product knowledge
• Drawing Office experience in either electrical or mechanical engineering (or both)
• Experience in Pro Engineer Wildfire 2 and Autocad
