Description
Management of design aspects for a portfolio of projects at tender and Construction stage.
Position: Design & Build Manager
Package: £60-65k plus full benefits package.
Company: Regional Main Contractor working upon New Build and Refurbishment projects to £40m in the London region, focused upon Education, Health, Commercial, Leisure and Government schemes.
Role: Management of design aspects for a portfolio of projects at tender and Construction stage, during the bid process you will be expected to manage the design elements of bids or tenders through to a successful award as part of the pre-construction team, offering guidance and advice upon buildability issues and management of the design process and external consultants.
During the Construction stage you will manage the design process for setting up the supply chain, co-ordination of design between subcontractors and monitoring of the design aspects including performance of external consultants whilst assisting project teams.
Specific responsibilities include leadership of the design process, advice upon value management and project specifications, programming and sequencing, design within cost restraints, minimise risk, ensure the design process recognises current legislation, standards and Codes of Practice. Manage the activities of the design team and Co-ordinate all parties to suit.
Requirements: You will have worked for recognised construction companies in the UK in a design focused role, will be well versed in construction design and will most likely have professional qualifications.
