INTELLIGENT NUCLEAR CLEAN-UP

We are seeking Decommissioning, Decontamination & Dismantling Engineers to provide technical solutions to nuclear decommissioning, clean up, remediation and nuclear engineering problems. You will be joining the Engineering & Solutions Function in either Warrington, Gloucester or Reading and may be allocated to one or more large/medium sized projects, or you may be allocated to provide inputs to a larger number of projects from within a discipline group
Your specific responsibilities will include ensuring that codes and standards are correctly applied, producing calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports, producing technical Scopes of Work, as well as producing technical specifications, assessing tender returns and providing technical support to those packages throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and decommissioning.
As Decommissioning, Decontamination & Dismantling Engineer you will also carry out design risk assessments, prepare designs for hazard identification and HAZOP studies and review design changes.
As Decommissioning, Decontamination & Dismantling Engineer, you will have an HNC/HND/Degree in an appropriate discipline and should be working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, and corporate membership of the appropriate Engineering Institution.
You should have experience covering a range of engineering/technical topics, ideally within the nuclear industry or other safety related industry. You should have some experience in nuclear plant/facility decommissioning, ranging from end of use closure, care and maintenance, decommissioning planning, decontamination, practical implications of working in a radiologically hazardous working environment, as well as knowledge of tools, techniques and good practice.

You should be familiar with remote and hands on implementation techniques on a suited/controlled environment, temporary structures and ventilation systems, safety case requirements, PMP process, SSOW and permit requirements and have knowledge of the nuclear industry and understanding of the regulatory and licensing processes in UK. You should also have experience of working in a contracting organisation or consultancy.
