Description

As a Decommissioning Project Engineer, you will work on behalf of the Decommissioning Manager providing decommissioning documentation and designs for predetermined stages / packages of work to enable decommissioning to be undertaken. You will undertake role(s) and be a post holder as identified within the appropriate Facility Emergency Response Plan, undertaken on a voluntary basis with the appropriate training, you will also be involved in the assistance in meeting the identified decommissioning/phase objectives within the identified time and budgetary limitations.

As a Decommissioning Project Engineer, you will work on behalf of the Decommissioning Manager providing decommissioning documentation and designs for predetermined stages / packages of work to enable decommissioning to be undertaken. You will undertake role(s) and be a post holder as identified within the appropriate Facility Emergency Response Plan, undertaken on a voluntary basis with the appropriate training, you will also be involved in the assistance in meeting the identified decommissioning/phase objectives within the identified time and budgetary limitations.

You will also be responsible for the detailed management of technical aspects associated with identified packages/area covering, pre-works and decommissioning methodologies needed to undertake Decommissioning. You will provide decommissioning strategy and associated supporting decommissioning documentation for predetermined stages / packages of work and submit and obtain approval for the documentation from the appropriate approval route. You will be required to liaise with commercial and procurement departments and ensure the project risk register has been updated to include any additional risk from the work packages under your initial control. You will assist in the preparation of project specific bids and their presentation and produce and present a progress statement to the Decommissioning Manager at decommissioning progress meetings. You will undertake investigative and preparatory work in support of decommissioning both around and in facilities being or preparing for decommissioning and produce design /contract change notes, quality plans as required.

Qualified to ONC (BTEC) and proven appropriate experience or HNC plus experience within a Nuclear / Decommissioning environment, you will have managerial and supervisory knowledge. Working knowledge of company Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards is required as is a good working knowledge of radiological practices for RPE, decommissioning and decontamination.

All selected candidates will be required to undergo security clearance. You must also have lived and worked on 'UK soil' (includes BFPO, UK companies overseas, etc.) for the past 10 years to enable the necessary security checks to be completed.
