To act as a Team Engineer reporting to the Baseband & Crypto Engineering Manager/Project Manager, initial tasks will include (but not be limited to):
To support the Engineering Manager with the high level design of the Baseband infrastructure (Data and Voice).
Data/Voice Communications Engineer
To act as a Team Engineer reporting to the Baseband & Crypto Engineering Manager/Project Manager, initial tasks will include (but not be limited to):
To support the Engineering Manager with the high level design of the Baseband infrastructure (Data and Voice).
To support the production of Baseband Segment Requirements covering the Data/Voice infrastructure these requirements will be placed on our suppliers for Implementation.
To support the Engineering Manager with the review/assessment of Proposals (in response to the requirements referred to above) and Design Documentation provided by suppliers
To support the Lead Test Engineer for Baseband & Crypto, including the review of detailed test procedures for Segment/System Level testing and witnessing/participating in System/Segment level testing. In addition support the Project Manager with the review and approval of Requirements Compliance Verification.
To support the Project Manager with Site Installation and Inspection (e.g. as Designed / as Built reconciliation)
To support the Project Manager with co-ordination and review of End Item Data Packs.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential:
Data and Voice Network Design (esp. use of CISCO routers, Nortel switches/PABX etc), Network Implementation and Operation.
Detailed (working) knowledge of IP, ATM and Circuit Switched Communications
Desirable:
Current SC Clearance
Use of DOORS
Requirements Management tools, Network Management Systems (IBM NetCool experience preferred), VV&T/QV
Testing experience, experience of VoIP
Previous Experience
Essential: Proven track record in Data/Voice Network Design/Implementation/Test
Desirable: Communication Systems Network Management, (Military) Satellite Communications systems
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
