Description
Our client, a global telecoms company, require a Data Network Support Technician to assist in the management of a very large data network, comprising
ver 1400 sites, as part of a long term contract with a large government body. Candidates will be Cicso certified to a minimum of CCNA level and have excellent working knowledge of Cisco switches and routers. In this role, candidates will be required to assist in the management, monitoring and support of all data switches and routers across those sites. There is also a roll out program running alongside this, to replace all WAN routers with an IP telephony based system. This roll out work will be carried out outside of normal working hours, and although the team does not operate on a shift basis, there will be an ongoing requirement for people to occasionally work these periods on a rota basis. Candidates should have experience of TCP/IP, UDP and ICMP networking protocols. A good knowledge of data network management tools, IP telephony, DCHP and DNS in a multi site environment would be advantageous. This is a 12 month contract vacancy, based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, and the daily rate of pay is negotiable depending upon experience. Please send CV in the first instance.
