Description
One of our key clients currently has immediate openings for Lead DCS Engineers to drive the technical aspects of medium to large-scale automation projects predominantly in the Oil & Gas industry.
Position responsibilities:
Full responsibility for all technical aspects of projects
Ensure adherence to technical standards and guidelines
Liaise with customers and ensure adherence to contract terms
Act as coach and mentor to more junior staff
Duties:
- Evaluates reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plans, designs and develops electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems.
- Analyses equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
- Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
- Participates in product technical support to resolve customer problems related to product performance or system application.
- Determines design approaches and parameters. May also review vendor capability to support product development.
- Develops professional expertise and proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.
- Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
- Coordinates and guides the overall design and development for specific area.
- Participates in setting schedules.
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Debugs and reviews designs to ensure adherence to criteria and to eliminate potential problems during manufacture, test and operations.
- Conducts design reviews, produces prototypes of product documentation.
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
- Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
- May provide technical direction for drafters or technicians.
- May initiate and direct the work of technical staff as team leader for projects of limited scope.
- May act as liaison with plant of manufacture or vendor.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, C.S. or related discipline.
Requirements:
Degree in Electronic/Control Engineering
Proven track record in project related engineering role
Expertise in either Safety Systems or DCS
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead projects
