An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Customer Support Engineer to join this world-class supplier of innovative, high performance actuation systems and equipment for the aerospace and defence industry.
As Customer Support Engineer reporting to the Line Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out in-service investigations including associated detailed design, draughting and testing in the field of mechanical and electromechanical engineering to support the requirements of customers and associated PDS projects. You will also be required to provide support to production' services including investigations to queries raised through ECRs, NCRs, production permits and concessions. You may also be responsible for the technical supervision of other junior or outsourced and subcontracted staff allocated to his/her tasks.
In particular, you will produce product designs and drawings and Engineering Change Notes (ECNs), including the coordination of outsourced design activities. You will ensure the production of accurate, high quality work and control the associated time scales and costs of their activities. You will undertake the checking of detail, sub-assembly, general assembly and installation drawings, and the release of drawings and ECNs into the company production system. You will also create sub-system design specifications and interface specifications which decompose the customer's requirements from the system level specification.
Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, you will have experience in the Aerospace/Defence environment, preferably in a hydraulics/control/actuation-related industry and ideally using Unigraphics CAD platform.
