CORROSION ENGINEERS
ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY
BASED LOUGHBOROUGH
We are looking to recruit permanent Corrosion Engineers to provide technical support and consultancy in Safety and Integrity, primarily to the international oil, gas and LNG industries.
A Corrosion Engineer, you should be qualified to degree level in Materials/Metallurgy Engineering, preferably Chartered Engineer or working towards member status. An MSc in Corrosion Management and Control would be beneficial, but is not essential.
You should have experience preferably in the Oil and Gas industry, a good knowledge of pipeline and process plant integrity issues, knowledge of corrosion mitigation/monitoring techniques and knowledge of relevant failures modes and experience of pipeline and process plant RBI including inspection planning.
You should be fully conversant with the concepts of Probability, Consequence and Risk and the main criteria for analysing these elements as well as having knowledge and experience of common inspection techniques and their applications and being fully conversant with the latest RBI standards, guidance and methodologies.
For this role you will be required to have the ability to take a project (<£100k) through from initial client discussions, to proposal, to execution, to project delivery (requiring individual and team working ability). Good communication skills are important, both verbally and in the production of written technical reports in English. The latter requires a demonstrable ability to write in a clear and concise language that is required for an engineering consultancy.
