The suitable applicant will offer C&I expertise on a major Marine project - Front end specification and Controls strategy implementation, are key functions within the role.
The suitable applicant will offer C&I expertise on a major Marine project - Front end specification and Controls strategy implementation, are key functions within the role. Applicants must have previous Marine or Oil/Gas Experience
Candidates can be considered for either a Central Scotland or South West (Avon) base.
Candidates will Provide Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) expertise, supporting the Systems' Engineers in defining the Controls & Instrumentation requirements, specifying the functional and hardware details and ensuring consistency in instrumentation used.
Key tasks associated with the role are:-
Gain familiarity with the host IPMS system in terms of
Architecture
C&I Schematics
C&I Database
Hardware
Safety Operating Philosophy, Control Strategies & Control Requirements
Sub-system assumptions
Applicable Classification Society rules.
Implement the system C&I solution taken from the respective system Control Strategies and Interface Requirement Specifications.
Specify the System C&I requirements for Platform and Mechanical Systems.
Assist the System Design Lead to agree respective system Interface Requirement Specification
Participate in System Reviews (Desktop Reviews), providing Controls input.
Provide Controls and Instrumentation input to Equipment Specifications (ES) for equipment being procured.
Review selected supplier's specifications and drawings.
Ensure that system and equipment designs conform with Classification Society rules
Provide cabling / connection guidance for Control and Instrumentation cables and Local Operator Panels.
The role is paid on a daily basis based on an 8hr working day
