Control Engineer - Variable Speed Drives
The role of the Control Engineer will be to work as part of a multi-skilled team, modelling / simulation of drive and power system, developing embedded controllers and control software for use in drive systems.
You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent in electrical and electronic Engineering or control Engineering. Relevant experience in an engineering design, or research environment is ideally required and experience of Matlab simulation or equivalent and C programming language.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be to:
To specify, design and simulate control schemes for variable speed drives and power system.
To undertake Matlab Modelling & Control Software
To specify, design, test and document embedded firmware.
To work with other departments to develop common drive control platform.
To be responsible for estimating and planning work to ensure budgets and timescales are met.
Personal Attributes
A flexible approach to your duties and working hours is essential and you must also be prepared to travel throughout the UK and overseas and therefore a valid driving licence is essential. You will need strong and convincing communication skills. You must have excellent organisation and planning skills. You should have a proactive attitude, work on your own initiative and work well as part of a team.
