Description

The role is primarily focused on creation test and de-bugging Mitsubishi PLC & HMI software, Additional duties include design of the control & safety systems using relevant European standards, and supporting documentation,
Primarily based at the East Sussex with the requirement to attend customer sites throughout Europe.

The Candidate
All our design and drawing activities are performed on PC systems. The ideal candidate must be computer literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and familiar with AutoCAD. (Ideally AutoCAD Electrical 2007)

Although we use Mitsubishi PLCs, experience with other makes, particularly Siemens is desirable.

Our control systems make extensive use of the PLC communications via Ethernet and serial data-comms, together with the Mitsubishi CC-Link fieldbus. Experience in any of these is desirable, as is experience with multi-axis motion control and inverter drives.
We use the Mitsubishi E series of HMI products. Experience configuring these is desirable.

As part of the software test / de-bug, the candidate will be expected to set-up and configure various elements that make up our machines, so a good hands on approach is required

Candidates must posses the ability to design control system electrical circuits. Ideally using AutoCAD. Knowledge of all machinery electrical safety standards is an essential requirement.

Supporting documentation is an essential part of the design process, so the candidate must be capable of undertaking technical safety reviews, together with document and drawing updating. Working within a small department, the successful candidate must be a team player, capable of working to deadlines.
