Contract Manager
Leicester Branch
£28-32,000

Our client is part of a large group providing lighting and communication services to both the private sector and to local authorities. To complement their existing staff they are looking to recruit a NICEIC qualified supervisor for their Leicester offices.

Job Purpose
Responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Street Lighting Maintenance Contract and other projects, ensuring that resources are adequately allocated and effectively utilised, Company and contract procedures are adhered to correctly and that regular constructive communication takes place with the customer, employees and other relevant parties (including sub contractors).

Main role & Responsibilities

Safety
To ensure all staff are issued with the correct protectiove equipment and ensure are used correctly and aware of own responsibilities and actions. Also to ensure plant and equipment are maintained and safe to use, carry out regular inspections on personnel, equipment and vehicles.

Safety audit
Accidents reported (f2508) levels to be to company targets.
All accidents to be fully investigated and corrective action to be taken as necessary.
Vehicle/Plant damage to be minimised and corrective action taken where appropriate.
Drivers/Operatives to be briefed on expectations and be briefed following incidents.
Customer complaints to be managed and assessed on a regular basis.

Quality
To maintain the maintenance quality plan (MQP)
To ensure that all work is carried out to contract specifications
To ensure all paperwork is completed and signed at each stage and complies procedures.
To ensure reports and invoicing are accurate and timely.
To maintain accurate written/computerised records of all aspects of the contract

Operations
To maintain adequate staff, equipment, vehicles and stock to fulfill requirements of the contract and deliver productivity targets.
To use appropriate systems to ensure all paperwork is accurate.
To provide project planning charts showing progress/ completion within the time scales.
To ensure timely procurement of contract materials.
To meet all key performance indicators set out within budget and customer requirements.

Finance
To actively manage the contract ensuring good cash flow and profit levels.
To ensure that all invoicing is in accordance with contract and company procedures.
To maintain the debt and debtor days at agreed levels.
To control stock and maintain levels below optimum figure set for the branch.
Company Policies & Procedures
All operations will comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

Skills & Knowledge
Must be qualified Electrician (C&G 2361 and 2381). 16th Edition
NICEIC qualified
Relevant industry experience (e.g. electrical or highways) within a similar role
Thorough knowledge of contract and project management
Understanding of budgetary and timescale controls
Able to deliver tight deadlines.
Ability to measure quality and performance to target
Strong leadership and man management skills
Determination to achieve results.
Able to motivate staff and operatives.
Comfortable with challenging poor performance.
Can demonstrate high level of personal organisation.
Able to work within a team.

Terms and Conditions
Hours of work: 9.00 to 5.30 Monday to Friday.
23 days holiday rising to 24 after 5 years service.
Life Assurance 3 x times annual salary.
