THE JOB
CONTRACTS ENGINEER
Due to continued success and expansion my client is now looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Engineer.
Based at the clients Glasgow offices the main purpose of the role is to manage the day-to-day issues associated with any contract that has been designated as under hi/hers responsibility.
The Contract Engineer is the contact point for the administration of the contract and provides a link for all information between the company, alliance partners and the client.
1.Manage a series of contacts at one time.
2.Ensure that at contract handover a thorough check is carried out to ascertain specification requirements, project duration procurement difficulties etc.
3.Ensure scope of works is defined and agreed with Client, Alliance partners, Suppliers etc prior to commencement of the contract.
4.Develop and keep updated a detailed programme from which project will be driven.
5.Requisition and expedite materials in conjunction with procurement team.
6.Deal with client correspondence and give proper notices as required under the contract.
7.Maintain project files.
8.Ensure payment documentation is prepared and claims made by due dates.
9.Ensure that technical documentation is collated, packaged and delivered in accordance with the contract requirements.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
A very good understanding of INCO terms is required.
Demonstrative Commercial negotiations background and understanding is required.
Customer focus and account management is required.
An understanding of Engineering Drawings, Bills of Materials and machined components would be highly desirable.
An understanding of SAP would be advantageous but not essential - although previous use of an MRP system is essential.
A Mechanical Engineering background would be very beneficial
REMUNERATION
Basic salary negotiable(depending on skills and experience), up to 10% associated bonus, 25 days holiday plus all statutory, 39 hour week and company pension is also on offer
