Our Client manufactures complex high precision cast/machined airfoils fitted to gas turbines used in power generation and aircraft propulsion. Customers include Rolls Royce, Alstom, GE, Snecma, Siemens and Dresser Rand. They have an immediate requirement for Continuous Improvements / Lean Manufacturing Engineers on a temporary contract basis to work with the manufacturing areas in order to achieve set standards. This will require the implementation of 5S, Layout, Visual Management, Flow, Pull Systems, Kanban and Kaizen activities.
Background
Following on from the relocation of processes and equipment into and within another site there is a requirement for both the existing and new activity areas to undergo improvements in order to establish the standard of a manufacturing environment and practices required by The Company.
Requirement
A number of enthusiastic, experienced and driven individuals are required on a temporary contract basis to work with the manufacturing areas in order to progress the implementation of the standards that The Company requires. This will involve running, facilitating and driving improvement/kaizen activities with the manufacturing area teams.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience
•Workplace organisation (5S, layout, visual management, etc)
•Workflow (line balancing, process flow, pull systems, kanbans, etc)
•Waste reduction
•Structured problem solving (e.g. 8D, TOPS, PDCA, etc)
•Training and facilitation
Any relevant industry or process experience would be an advantage but this is not essential. More important is the ability to hit the ground running and quickly achieve, through the manufacturing area teams, the improvements required.
