The purpose of this role will be to provide robust Project Management (PM) support and direction to the Serial Programmes Outer Wing Engineering Operations Team, primarily focusing on driving all Lean Engineering Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives as part of the extended Operational Excellence network being developed within the new organisation.
The successful candidate will be the Lean Engineering Champion for the function, providing guidance, challenge and expertise in this critical area. Working in conjunction with the Operational Excellence team ensuring best practice and common PM and CI approach is used in the deployment of improvement projects within Serial Programmes. Ensuring the Serial Programmes functions adheres to applicable process, whilst challenging the approach and strategy when required.
Support regular reporting of progress and development of Power8 activities to relevant stakeholders
Support the engagement of Serial Programmes CI Project Leaders and the monitoring of savings to the Programme
Provide general project support and coordination using Operational Excellence standards to ensure successful Power8 project deployment
Encourage and promote awareness of Lean Engineering / CI and philosophy in the business
Experience/ knowledge/ skills:
Green Belt Level change agent familiar with application of Lean principles and tools within a non-manufacturing environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
Understanding of Knowledge Management philosophy, methods and tools would be an advantage
Awareness of collaboration technologies and how to make efficient use of them would be an advantage
