Configuration Engineer required urgently to start immediately on an initial 6 month contract, on behalf of a large defence organisation based in Wells

Purpose of Role
Administering the CM toolset across programmes:
ClearCase (Base and UCM)
ClearQuest
DOORs
Sherpa
To improve the workings of the tools by, for example, provision of common schemas and to provide training in the use of the tools / schemas, both formal and informal as required

Technical and Professional Skills
Tool administration
Support of engineering development (hardware and software)
End-user training (writing materials and delivering training)
Tool Configuration and development
Perl and VBScript scripting and Api
Windows Operating System
Familiar with Configuration and Data Management processes (particularly those based on Def Stan 05-57)

Education and Qualifications Desired
2+ years experience of hands on tools administration
Typically 2+ years experience working as a project configuration engineer on system engineering projects
BSc in a relevant engineering discipline preferred

Due to the nature of the business, it may be required for applicants to undergo full security clearance (SC) prior to appointment.

It would be advantageous to have willingness / flexibility to support activities at other sites
