Assystem UK Ltd are currently working with a leading international company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defence and aerospace systems including military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, fighting vehicles, radar, avionics, communications, electronics and guided weapon systems. Assystem UK Ltd are currently working with a leading international company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defence and aerospace systems including military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, fighting vehicles, radar, avionics, communications, electronics and guided weapon systems. The requirement is for a Configuration Management Engineer to be based at our clients site in Lancashire, North West ENGLAND. There is an exciting opportunity in the Typhoon Training IPT working on the Groundcrew Training Aids (GTA) and Aircrew Synthetic Training Aids (ASTA) Projects within the team responsible for the Data, Configuration and Quality Management activities.

The role will encompass:-
Support the Data, Configuration and Change Management tasks for the Typhoon Training IPT.

Support the update, maintenance and implementation the standards and procedures associated with the above within the Typhoon Training IPT.

Support internal audits to ensure that the relevant standards are followed and provide support to external audits.

Liaise with the ASTA/ GTA IPT, EF GmbH, NETMA and the UK Customer to ensure that the deliverables for the GTA and ASTA devices are of sufficient quality to be accepted by the Customer.


Perform reviews on IPT deliverables to ensure that they follow the agreed configuration management processes.

The position represents an ideal opportunity for the candidate to join a dynamic team that is expanding to provide the Ground and Air Training Infrastructure needed by the UK Ministry of Defence and Royal Air Force to operate Eurofighter Typhoon as the aircraft goes into service.

The successful candidate will demonstrate good interpersonal skills and have experience of Configuration Management standards as applied on the Typhoon
project.

It would also be desirable, but not essential, if the candidate has experience of the Configuration Management Tools such as PVCS and EDSRS.
