CONFIGURATION ENGINEER

LOCATION - Capability Green, Bedford, Bedfordshire, Luton, London, South, South East

SALARY - £25000 - £28000 + BENEFITS (Healthcare, Pension, Partnership Shares)

An opportunity has arisen with a leading defence client.
Reporting to the Lead Configuration Engineer in terms of governance and taking day to day direction from multiple programmes, the Configuration Engineer shall take ownership of the Configuration Management (CM) processes and ensure that they are applied to the entire product under Configuration Control in accordance with contractual requirements and the company CM processes and procedures.

Reporting to the Lead Configuration Engineer in terms of governance and taking day to day direction from multiple programmes, the Configuration Engineer shall take ownership of the Configuration Management (CM) processes and ensure that they are applied to the entire product under Configuration Control in accordance with contractual requirements and the company CM processes and procedures.
Support the set up of CM activity for Products including interpretation of Customer requirements. Create and maintain the Project Configuration Management Plan (CMP). Ensure adherence of the requirements of CMP by Project staff and any sub-contractors via regular audits.
Manage all internal Change Requests from receipt to approval using Teamcentre PDM (unless specified otherwise by contract). This to include the provision of Change Board Agendas, Minutes and configuration management input to Change Board Meetings. Maintain accurate Configuration Status accounts and be able to provide such data to configuration audits.
Assist the CM Lead in continued development of CM processes aimed at providing effective configuration management internally, with UK sub-contractors and with the Customer.
Be able to understand and determine Configuration Management requirements for a programme, deliver a CM Plan to meet those requirements and ensure Programme adherence to that plan.
The successful candidate is expected to be able to demonstrate a strong background in Configuration Management including Planning, Identification, Change control, status accounting and verification. Ideally the candidate should be aware of and understand the requirements of our National CM Procedure DEF-STAN 05-57 and international guidelines for CM, ANSI-EIA 649.

Awareness of CMMI and experience in the use of our key configuration tool,Teamcenter PDM; is desirable
