Opportunities exist to work on a new satellite communications system for commercial and government use and to be part of the overall system team from the start of this challenging programme.
Our Client is looking for experienced Communications Systems Engineers capable of managing small teams and who will contribute to detailed system design studies for the military satcom network.

Our Client is looking for experienced Communications Systems Engineers capable of managing small teams and who will contribute to detailed system design studies for the military satcom network.
The work will involve design, implementation and configuration of RF, IP and CS networks.
Previous experience in one or more of these areas is highly essential.
The work will also require a good working knowledge of complementary technologies to enable a mature systems design to be achieved. The overall context / domain is the design of satcom / telecoms systems that include fixed and mobile assets.
A strong background in these fields is mandatory.
In this early phase of the programme typical outputs will include trade-off studies, development of unambiguous system level requirements and production of derived requirements (with justification) for implementation by either internal or external suppliers. The roles will also include technical reviewing and monitoring of supply teams and presentation of the systems design to Customers.
This is an international programme with an international team.
The roles will require regular travel to other locations in the UK and mainland Europe.
Qualifications:
Essential
Good degree (Bsc/BEng) in Electronic and / or Communications Engineering.
Desirable
Good second degree (Msc/MEng) in Electronic and / or Communications Engineering.
Skills and Experience:
Essential
Some industrial experience (post graduation) in telecoms or satcom system design and technical management.
Desirable
Proven industrial experience (post graduation) in telecoms or satcom system design and technical management.
Experience in at least two of the following areas:
User requirements analysis
System modelling and performance analysis
System architectural design (including experience of UML in this area)
End-to-end Military communications systems
Satcom
Network architecture design
EPM modems
Management systems (Customer Relationship
Management, billing)
Multiple access protocol applications
IP networks
Secure architectures
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
