Commodity Specialist
Aerospace Company seeks a Commodity Specialist with at least 5 years experience. You must have good experience of purchasing/ buying / supply chain management within a Electro/Mechanical engineering environment, and thorough knowledge of MRP principals.
Your role will be to provide a positive contribution to the overall Supply Chain performance by the effective management of their key commodity responsibilities.
With respect to their allocated commodity groups:- Analyse and agree appropriate strategies for each commodity group with the Supply Chain Manager. - Rationalise the number of suppliers within each commodity group to achieve the appropriate supplier relationships. - Recommend and approve appropriate suppliers in conjunction with the supplier quality engineer. - Negotiate appropriate supplier agreements to achieve a positive commercial advantage and meet the business needs.
Monitor and manage the supplier base to:- Achieve year on year cost reductions. - Improve supplier performance in terms of on time delivery, quantity accuracy, quality ppm performance, and lead-time reduction and improved flexibility.
- Reduce inventory by introducing appropriate logistics and inventory replenishment systems with key suppliers.
