Commodity Leader required for this international supplier to the aerospace (civil & defence) and military vehicle markets. This vacancy has been authorised to strengthen the buying operation within the business. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the main purpose of the role is the development of a commodity based buying function in support of the operations teams.

Commodity Leader required for this international supplier to the aerospace (civil & defence) and military vehicle markets. This vacancy has been authorised to strengthen the buying operation within the business. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the main purpose of the role is the development of a commodity based buying function in support of the operations teams.
Key Duties are as follows:
Identify opportunities for commodity-based purchasing, in order to streamline the buying function and thus maximise discounts through improve purchasing agreements. Prevent critical supply issues through best practice supply chain management techniques. Liaise with stakeholders to deliver new products on cost, on time. Develop key supplier KPIs. Pursue Lean, inventory and consignment initiatives with the supply chain. Develop a competitive flexible supplier base, focused on year on year cost reduction. Manage sub-contracted work. Develop e-resourcing.
The Commodity Leader will be educated to HND in business studies / or engineering ideally, supported by full or part CIPS qualifications. You will have solid experience of using ERP systems (e.g. 4th shift). You will be highly literate in the Microsoft suite of programs and will need experience of low cost economy resourcing e.g. Eastern Europe / Far East.
The ideal person will have gained several years experience in a related industry and organisation with a well developed international resourcing capability.
