The Electrical Machines Manufacturing Unit of this specialist in power conversion is now looking for experienced Commissioning Engineers who will report to the Customer Support Manager, ensuring that products supplied by the company are put into service safely, correctly engineered, at the specified time, with the necessary documentation and to budget.
Your main duties will include: commissioning electrical machines, including excitation, protection, and control systems; planning commissioning activities to take place in a timely and consistent manner; liasing with vendor representatives; providing assistance to other engineers; and carrying out remedial work on faults.
To succeed as Commissioning Engineer you should have a good background in Electronic/Electrical Engineering. Operational experience of electrical machines, excitation schemes, basic mechanical and electrical fitting, analogue and digital electronics, circuit and schematic diagram interpretation, and fault finding on AVRs/PLCs/Protection Relays will prove highly advantageous.
A flexible approach to your duties and working hours is essential and you must also be prepared to travel, sometimes at short notice, throughout the UK and overseas and occasionally to sites where conditions are poor.
