Commissioning Engineers required for a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of advanced marine fluid handling systems for ships and offshore oil and gas facilities.
Key responsibilities:
1. Assist with electrical installation planning & design.
2. At all times represent the company's interests while interacting with vessel / shipyard staff or the classification society.
3. Provide timely and accurate feedback on commissioning status and related issues to project manager.
4. Carry out electrical and mechanical commissioning of equipment and systems following installation.
5. Provide recommendations for the improvement of company systems, specifications, installation and operational procedures.
6. Provide emergency 'out of hours' contact and support.
7. Must be willing to travel on a worldwide basis and spend extended periods overseas.
8. Be familiar with and comply with the company's policies; in particular relevant policies on health, safety and environmental matters.
9. Work in a manner that promotes the company's values.
10. Management may require other similar or related duties to be performed at certain times, which are outside the terms of this job description.
Person Specification
1. Experience
The Candidate is likely to be a commissioning engineer whose experience includes the planning, design, installation, commissioning and testing of marine auxiliary systems and associated controls.
or
A marine engineer, with electrical experience, who has attained 2nd or 3rd engineer status.
Good general engineering background with 'hands on' experience in the installation, commissioning and operation of:
>?? Marine pollution control equipment (sewage treatment plants, advanced wastewater systems, etc)
>?? Rotating equipment (preferably pumps, high pressure compressors, etc)
>?? Control systems associated with the above
Experience of shipboard installations and their associated systems.
A clear understanding of electrical, electronic and PLC control systems.
Experience of working in shipyard and shipboard environments.
Qualifications
HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering / HND Marine Engineering. An NVQ3 Installing and Commissioning Electro-mechanical systems and equipment would be desirable but not essential. It is important that the candidate has the above practical experience and can clearly demonstrate an enthusiastic and dynamic approach.
Good command of both the spoken and written English language is essential.
Valid driving licence.
