Commercial Officer - exciting opportunity to join this Defence company based in Shropshire and commutable from Wolverhampton, Kidderminster, Shrewsbury and Whitchurch. The purpose of the role is to manage a variety of Commercial issues which will include bidding to customers, agreeing new contracts and contract management activities.
Key responsibility areas:
Devising and preparing commercial solutions for various bids. Preparing robust Commercial proposals in response to customer requests / enquiries. Drafting, analysing and negotiating Contract terms, Confidentiality Agreements and Subcontract arrangements. Preparation of tender vet material together with the commercial aspects of the Life Cycle Management documentation. Post contract award the role holder will be responsible for contract maintenance and customer management.
At all times the role holder will work within the company mandated policies and procedures and will be responsible for appropriate implementation of commercial governance across their work package areas.
The Commercial Officer will work closely with the Commercial Manager Support Programmes, the Costing and Pricing function and the Integrated Project Teams and therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of working within a team environment as well as independently.
The successful candidate will have attained good results at GCSE/O Level in Maths, English and a technical subject - science etc. A Degree would be desirable but not essential, qualifications in Law or a technical subject would be useful but, again, not essential.
The Commercial Officer will have good numeracy and literacy skills with a working knowledge of MS office applications and the use of SAP would be an advantage.
You should have some previous Commercial experience and will have ideally have customer facing experience and dealing with suppliers. Previous dealing with the UK MoD would also be advantageous.
Occasional travel within UK will be required
