We are seeking a Commercial Contract & Systems Manager who will be a key member of the Commercial management team; Managing & Controlling the key operational commercial systems and Quality Management Systems. You will also have special responsibility for ensuring compliance with Group Policy, and Senior Management directives to minimise Risk and Contractual exposure to the Corus Group. The Commercial Department has three legs Sales, Bid Proposals, and Marketing. The Commercial Contract & Systems Manager will provide high level Commercial control and support to the Sales and Bid Proposals teams, with particular reference to Legal, Financial, and Commercial issues
As Commercial Contract & Systems Manager you will manage & control the key Business commercial systems and Quality Management Systems. with respect to Contractual Terms & Conditions, Contractual / Joint Venture Agreements and Financial pre-requisites; to minimize contractual risk.
You will lead and evaluate Commercial activities on major opportunities, providing expertise on pre and post contract negotiations - Contractual Terms & conditions, Legal and Financial considerations, contract disputes /variations, and final close out, as well as monitoring, controlling and advising on enquiries received and projects secured & be the commercial interface between the CNES /CPE operational units ensuring that all issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
This job is very challenging; it is of the utmost importance to manage/ reduce the ongoing risk and exposure to the business in terms of Contractual, Legal & Financial matters, and it will be a major challenge to educate colleagues to bring about improved selection of projects to improve profitability and order success rates. The job requires you to be involved at all stages of developing the enquiry into an order and through to contract completion /delivery, and you will have exposure to the External client base mainly UK based but with overseas involvement, as well as working with senior representatives from Legal and Financial Shared Services to find resolutions to mitigating risk and exposure to the Business.
To succeed as Commercial Contract & Systems Manager, you should be qualified to degree or equivalent level with a further business qualification desirable and must be capable of operating at the highest levels both within internally and externally.
In addition you should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and extensive experience in a senior commercial environment, have a high level of business acumen and a good understanding of contractual /legal matters. A sound knowledge of complex product technical and process issues is also required.
You should have good sound knowledge of Negotiation and Legal situations coupled with a strong commercial background, which has been gained in the External marketplace; dealing with projects of significant value and complexity.
