Classification Product Development Specialist required for a major Classification society.
Classification Product Development Specialist required for a major Classification society.
The successful candidate will guide the development of our clients marine survey tools and software.
Job Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for providing guidance and direction on future developments and enhancements of marine survey tools and software products, including SSS and Thickness Measurement, in order to ensure that surveyors are provided with the survey reporting tools that are optimised to best assist them with their work.
- To identify rule and regulatory changes which have an impact on the software products and provider guidance on the most appropriate solutions.
- To review and prioritise feedback issues, and to review and approve deliverables, including roadmaps, development specifications, test plans, test reports and release notes.
- To carry out software testing and to document the results.
- To prepare materials for the design and development of user guidance and user training.
- To coordinate the activities of software product user groups.
Job Requirements
- A degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent subject with proven experience in marine surveying duties.
- A fundamental understanding of software engineering principles, including database design and system architecture
- A working knowledge of project management and software development life-cycle processes.
