Description
To provide project management, technical and engineering support to customer departments in respect of facility development, refurbishment and maintenance, to maximise efficiency of company assets.
Civil Facilities Engineer
Reporting directly to the Site Facilities Manager. To provide project management, technical and engineering support to customer departments in respect of facility development, refurbishment and maintenance, to maximise efficiency of company assets.To supervise on site technicians and sub-contract labour
Skills required for the job
Proven experience working within a facilities maintenance environment
Diploma/HNC in Building services/civils
Confidential
Pro-active/self starter
Ability to work under pressure to defined deadlines
Knowledge of maintenance of building fabric and structure
Good general knowledge required with the ability to reason
Ability to liase with management and workforce
CDM trained
An understanding of the CIS scheme
An understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act
Required to work overtime as required
Fit and Healthy with the ability to climb ladders and towers
Located within 30 minutes from Stevenage
Must be a team player, be able to work on own initiative,
hard working, customer focussed with a flexible approach.
Security Clearance
PC Literate minimum Microsoft Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Express, Project and Access
Ability to use Autocad 2000/5
Main Activities
Daily supervision of site facilities technicians
Create and maintain fully concise project files
Preparation of detailed specifications, drawings, programmes and the functional control of specialist sub-contractors
Assist in the upkeep of site facilities brochure
Planning and controlling of production related projects, whilst minimising disruption
Preparation of project schedule programmes
To obtain estimates, prepare and manage the budgets for project based jobs
To manage projects to ensure they are on time, in budget and to specification
Preparation of purchase orders and place onto the purchasing system

Capital equipment and others as identified by B.Us
Carpentry work
Decorating
Drainage
Roofs
Furniture
Mandatory Requirements by building:-
Asbestos removal
Building control (planning and building control interface)
All site drawings
Utilities by building:-
Drainage
New Projects:-
Contractor control
Office refurbishment
CAD drawings
Emergency team:-
Active member of team
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
