Our Scottish based client is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team.
A growing proportion of the client's business derives from client driven studies, which eventually leads onto potential construction projects.
This position requires a Civil Engineer will take an active role as Designer on small and medium sized water and wastewater projects from 'Appraisal', 'Select' and then onto the 'Define' stages in Grangemouth refinery. The individual should have extensive experience in Wastewater Treatment Works and Water Mains design and will have some experience of the operation of these works. The Civil Engineer will be able to take on significant elements of detailed design.
The work will involve taking a significant (possibly lead) role in the design development of various projects on site. The work includes site wide drainage, firemain options, cooling water pipelines, Effluent Treatment Works refurbishment and general process plant projects. It will also require the interpretation of topo graphical & soil investigation reports for incorporation into civil engineer design. Work may be periodically required that relates to other customer sites.
The role may involve a period of embedding within the Client organisation or a Delivery Partner and as such the individual must be able to communicate technical information to a diverse customer base and represent the interests of the client when carrying out this aspect.
This role requires an experienced Chartered engineer with experience in Wastewater/Water design in a process environment.
Appraising different WastewaterTreatment Works improvement based options by assessing the current Wastewater Treatment Works module capacities, structural integrity of different process units in conjunction with available flow, chemical composition and consent data.
Design of Wastewater Treatment works from a Civil and M&E perspective
Design of water-mains, sewers and pumping stations including construction and supervision
AutoCAD Light experience would be desirable but not essential with the ability to interface with CAD operators. The candidate must have a general knowledge of chemical engineering and installations from a Civil engineering perspective, as well as being up to date on environmental issues associated with new legislation including IPPC.
The candidate must be familiar with Wastewater Treatment Works design from a Process engineering perspective and have a good working experience of pipe and open channel hydraulics.
Experience of process Mass Balance calculations would be an advantage.
Knowledge of the petrochemical/refinery industry (Desirable).
