Based in Bournemouth, we are looking for a Chief Engineer for a leading aerospace manufacturer...

Applicants will -
- be experienced in all aspects of inspection methods in the Aerospace Sector.
- be qualified to ONC or equivalent in an engineering discipline. Work experience will be taken into consideration.
- have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- be able to communicate in both written and oral forms, in a clear and precise manner.
- have completed a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
- have knowledge of PC packages including Microsoft Word & Excel.
The role -
- prioritising work defined by operations management
- run daily meetings to ensure root causes of non conformances are properly identified and verify that correct and preventative actions are valid and implemented
Main Responsibilities -
- Responsible for daily sentencing of non conforming product.
- Responsible for the inspection function through a team of inspectors, main arbitrator on inspection related matters.
- Allocate inspection resource to support First offs, In process and Final inspections.
- Liaise with internal departments on company / quality related issues.
- Attend internal meetings.
- Co-ordinate investigations through customer complaints that relate to shop floor processes.
- Carry out process / product audits.
- Develop new inspection criteria and create inspection plans.
- Maintenance and control of the First Article Inspection process
- Customer and supplier facing: on quality related issues
- Assist with 2nd and 3rd party audits.
- Responsible for Approved Operator process in manufacturing.
- Co ordinate calibration control system.
